In a step that reflects the gradual recovery of Syria’s construction and building sector, Damascus is preparing to host the 24th edition of Buildex, the International Exhibition for Construction, one of the country's most prominent annual events dedicated to construction, real estate development, infrastructure technologies, and safety and security systems.

The exhibition is scheduled to open on June 10 and continue until June 14 at the Damascus Fairground, under the patronage of the Syrian Ministry of Local Administration and Environment.

Record Numbers Reflect Growing Confidence

The 2026 edition of Buildex marks a significant expansion in scale, covering more than 140,000 square meters and featuring 630 companies from 41 countries, including 220 international exhibitors and 410 local companies.

Participants will showcase a wide range of products and services, including modern construction technologies, finishing materials, engineering and electrical equipment, infrastructure solutions, and public safety systems.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore more than 120,000 products representing 1,800 brands. The exhibition will also facilitate official business meetings through its B2B matchmaking program, helping importers, manufacturers, engineers, and industry professionals establish new partnerships and business opportunities.

A Comprehensive Platform for Industry Leaders and Experts

Buildex has evolved beyond a traditional trade exhibition into a major platform that brings together key stakeholders from the construction sector at local, regional, and international levels.

The exhibition attracts:

  • Major construction material buyers from both public and private sectors.
  • Local and international engineering consultancy firms.
  • Delegations from engineers’ and contractors’ associations across Syria and neighboring countries.
  • Government ministries and institutions involved in infrastructure, housing, and local development.
  • Specialists in industrial and civil safety systems seeking the latest technologies and security solutions.

This diverse participation transforms the exhibition into a marketplace for knowledge exchange, partnership building, and the presentation of innovative solutions that support Syria’s reconstruction and real estate development efforts.

Prioritizing Damaged Areas and Modern Construction Methods

Syrian authorities continue to prioritize the redevelopment of areas affected during previous years, not only through reconstruction projects but also by adopting modern planning and construction approaches.

These efforts aim to create more efficient and sustainable cities that better serve residents while incorporating energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.

Buildex serves as a window into these innovations, offering engineers, planners, and contractors access to the latest developments in fast-track construction materials, thermal and waterproof insulation systems, and smart building management technologies.

Exhibitions as a Driver of Economic Recovery

Specialized exhibitions in Syria have become more than seasonal events; they now play an active role in supporting economic recovery. They provide platforms for productive sectors, strengthen partnerships between local and foreign investors, and showcase the Syrian economy’s ability to regain its regional position.

Organizers of the Damascus Fairground continue to enhance facilities, infrastructure, and organizational capabilities to attract larger and more specialized events, positioning the venue as a growing hub for business and investment.

The increasing activity in the construction and development sectors is also contributing to renewed interest in the real estate market, with more investors and buyers exploring opportunities for property for sale in Syria in areas experiencing urban growth and new development projects.

Buildex 2025: Previous Figures Point to Continued Growth

The 23rd edition of Buildex, held in December 2025 at the Damascus Fairground, attracted approximately 19,200 visitors, including engineers, contractors, investors, and decision-makers.

These figures highlight the exhibition’s growing reputation and reinforce its role as a key driver of Syria’s construction industry and a significant event for the wider Arab region.
